During his highly successful career at sea, he sailed with crew from different parts of India and from various countries of the world. Having command of a ship puts the lives of 35 people in his hands and their everyday life is under his administration. This calls for great man management and human relations especially during long sailings when there is no land in sight for days and the morale of the crew can go very low. This widened his horizons by working with various cultures, ethnicity and nationalities and respecting other people for what they are. Capt.Krishna, during his 19 years of sailing, was fortunate to visit most countries of the world with a coastline including Europe, US, South America, Australia and the Far East. He made several voyages to Russia where he learnt Russian Language which he used as his 2nd language for his graduate studies!

He had the opportunity to interact and mingle with various nationalities and learn the various social systems in place all over the world. Unlike these days when shipping has become very hectic, with port stays of the vessels counted in hours rather than days, Capt.Krishna sailed during the days without internet, GPS and satellite navigation and communications. Port stays of the vessels were long sometimes in excess of a month which is unimaginable these days!!
