The Path to Success
M.K. Ahamed, a native of Guruvayur in Thrissur District, came to Dubai in 1966. At first, he worked as a manager in a foodstuff company (Gulf Co.) where he worked for 15 years. It was in the year 1981 where he started to establish the company Shijana Trading. 
In the beginning, it was almost a one man show – developing and running the company smoothly – for M.K. Ahamed. Nonetheless, it can be said without a doubt that his hard work is the sole foundation for Shijana Trading Company’s enviable success.
M.K. Ahamed is one of the founders and investors of Cochin Exports Group in Cochin. With their head office in Cochin, the company runs as a wholesale dealer of automobile spare parts and consumable electric goods. They also have branches in Calicut, Coimbatore, Perumbavoor, Alappuzha, Tripunithura and North Paravur.
He is blissfully married to Nadeera, a home maker. The couple is blessed with three children and apparently they are also as successful like their father.
His only son, Shameer Ahamed, is currently the CEO of Shijana Trading Co. LLC and is married to Shabna Abdul Salam from Palghat. For the past 18 years, he has been constantly helping his father in the business. At present, he looks after all the business activities of Shijana Trading Co. LLC.
One of his daughters, Shabeena, is married to Dr. Sajith Hameed, an ENT surgeon of Oxford Medical Center Abu Dhabi and another daughter of his, Shijna, is married to Sajith Ansar who is the CEO of Idea Spice Design LLC in Dubai.
M.K. Ahamed’s personal life is just like any other person. He enjoys watching movies during his free hours and loves the sports cricket and football. He also spends his leisure times by reading and practises yoga. As notable as he is, M.K. Ahamed is also undertaking a lot of charitable works.
