Dr.P.S.Taha is the Chairman & Managing Director of Taha Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi.
Dr.Taha hailing from Trivandrum was born on the 28th of February 1951.His father Shahul Hameed was a Transport Officer and mother Safia, house wife. Studied at Trivandrum Dental College passing out BDS and MDS (Periodontics). Started his career as a Dental Surgeon in Kallampalam Mission Hospital,Trivandrum (1977-78 period).Was Lecturer of Peridontics at Govt. Dental College,Trivandrum for an year from 1978 -79.
Arrived in Abu Dhabi in 1979 and joined Al Sameeha Clinic as a Dental Surgeon.After a short while returned to Kerala and took up teaching as Senior Lecturer at Dental College, Trivandrum working there from 1983 till 1986 and on promotion as Asst.Professor of Peridontics from 1986 till 1987.In between this period, did Post Graduation in Peridontics.
In 1987 set up Taha Medical Centre, initially for Dental treatment. The Centre was upgraded to a full-fledged Medical Centre in 1990.Currently Taha Medical Centre has Speciality Clinics for Internal Medicine,Paediatrics,Gynacology,Ophthalmology, ENT, Dental Homeopathy, Radiology, Pathology etc.
TMC’s catch word is “We Care with Care”.Dr.Thaha is a life member of various associations like Indian Dental Association, Indian Institute for Oral Implantology, Indian Society for Periodontics, Asian Academy of Aesthetic &Cosmetic Dentistry etc. He was the Chairperson of IDA, Delhi Conference, Scientific Section in 2002 and IDA National Conference, Scientific Section in 2003.
In the year 2002, Dr.Thaha also started PMS College of Dental Sciences which is the first self-financed Dental College in Kerala. The college imparts dental education of highest quality imparting BDS and MDS courses. Dr. Thaha is recipient of many awards like
1. Best Social Service Award, Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi.
2. Best Professional Award, NRI welfare society, Abu Dhabi.
3. Kairali TV award for cultural improvement.
4. Dentist Excellence award, IDDR-2003.
5. Dentist of the year Award- 2011- by Indian dentist.
6. Best Scientific paper Award –IDA Kerala State.
7. Presented 8 episodes on Dental Health in Soorya TV and Kairali TV.
8. Indian Dental Association’s Excellence Award -2013.
Dr.Thaha is fond of traveling. Married to Dr.Sauda,who is a Professor of Pathology, two children, one son Dr.Faisal is a Dental Doctor and the Director of Taha Medical Centre. Daughter Afiya Taha is a MBBS student.
