James P. George, a Mechanical Engineering Degree holder from TKM College of Engineering, Kollam with PGDM in Marketing from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi and Specialized in Management of Power and Water Projects is the General Manager of ETA Star International LLC where he has joined at the beginning of the new millennium.
He has undertaken and successfully implemented a number of prestigious projects holding key positions. He was Project Director for one of the largest Power Stations for Dubai, DEWA in 2009. He was also in charge of the Desalination Water Project under Federal Electricity and Water Authority, in Ajman. He was Project Manager for the complete Control System Works for Dubai’s Water Network. He was also in charge of the installation of Boilers for the 100 MW Solar Power Project, which is the biggest in the Middle East.
James P. George started his Professional Career in 1982, as a Trainee in NTPC, where he served for 11 years and rose to the rank of Deputy Manager.He joined DEUTSCHE BABCOOK in 1993, and worked there as Deputy General Manager, till 31st December, 1999 before joining the ETA.
ETA Star International is a part of ETA ASCON STAR group, a company of repute, handling projects in the power sector and allied fields. It was catapulted into the big league after contracts of Toshiba and IHI from Japan came its way for ‘L’ power station in Dubai. The company bagged orders from DEWA, ADWEA, LG and other companies for turnkey Extra High Voltage cabling projects. These projects involved engineering, procuring and commissioning of 132 KV and 220 KV cables of over 500 kilometers.
Hailing from Kadampanad in Pathanamthitta District, he belongs to the Punnileth family and is born to late P.C. George , a Head Master who was well known in Kadambanad, Adoor and Kollam and late Thankamma, a house wife. He is married to Veena, Head of Classes 11 and 12 at Emirates National School, Sharjah. and the couple has a daughter, Shraddha James who did B Tech from Birla Institute Pilani.and presently working as Project Engineer at Pacific Controls, Dubai and a son Siddanth James George, studying in Class 12 at Emirates National School, Sharjah.
