Hailing from Kumplampoika in Pathanamthitta District, Kerala, he belongs to the Puthuchira family which is an out spring of Elanthoor Thazhayil Kudumbham and is born to late Cherian Scaria who was a business person and Daisy Cherian, a house wife.
Dilip Cherian is married to Jemy Dilip, who is working as a Pharmacist In-charge of Panacia Pharmacy. The couple have a son Allen Zac Cherian, studying in the 7t h Grade at Our Own High School, Dubai and Ansu Mary Cherian studying in the 4th Grade at Our Own Girls High School, Dubai.
