Mohammed Mustafa Kassim, a native of Peroor, Kilimanoor in Trivandrum district, is the Managing Director of Bin Malik Oilfield & Industrial Company Limited (BMOF). The company, set up in 1981, is one of the leading suppliers of steel and related products to clients belonging to various sectors including oil and gas, petrochemical, construction and electromechanical industries. BMOF began its operations as a small venture, a single shutter shop with a few materials in stock, in Sharjah. But the company grew into a multi-location, multiproduct steel stockiest within a short span of time. Today, BMOF is still progressing with new products and objectives.
The company represents and holds stock of major brands from Europe, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Korea, Turkey, India, China and Thailand, in compliance with the quality standards.
BMOF is a limited liability company registered under the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce. It has branch offices in Hamriyah, Umm Al Quwain, and Sajja. The major products offered by BMOF are carbon steel seamless and welded pipes and tubes, galvanized and coated, all kinds of pipe fittings, flanges, accessories, MS sheets, plates, long and flat products and various other steel products for structural fabrications. The company represents and holds stock of major brands from Europe, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Korea, Turkey, India, China and Thailand, in compliance with the quality standards.

BMOF also has an integrated network system that helps it locate the exact availability and location of the stock in its various branches, which in turn results in the quick delivery of materials to the clients. BMOF has logistic and other support facilities to meet the requirements of the clients. With over 10 delivery vehicles for the local market, the company ensures that the requirements of the clients are met on time. The company also has forklifts with 5MT to 23MT capacity that help in the smooth loading and offloading of the materials. BMOF owns a packaging facility for export and for fittings. It is set to accept forward orders, in cooperation with a few freight forwarders for fast delivery at best rates.
The company conducts frequent meetings and trainings for its employees on its premises, which keep them up-to-date and help provide the best service to the clients. The company keeps records for full tractability for the materials supplied. The materials supplied are sourced from mills that are approved by the ISO and having the certifications and approvals from various organizations such as API, LLOYDS Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS and TUV. All the supplied materials come with mill test certificates issued by the manufacturer and verified by QA/QC. If the client needs examination by external third party inspectors, it is also arranged on request. The QA/QC team of BMOF takes proper precautions to ensure that the materials are all as per the MTC provided.
Also the company takes into consideration matters related to environment and the safety and welfare of its employees.
BMOF has online access to the stock position of its overseas suppliers, which helps the company provide quick replies to the enquiries of the clients on the availability of the supplies.
Besides BMOF M M Kassim owns three government aided schools in Kerala, which altogether have a total of 2000 students. The schools are MM UP School, Peroor, Kilimanoor, AKM High School, Kudavoor, Navaikulam, and MLPS Madathpacha, Kilimanoor.
M M Kassim was born as the son of the late Mohammed Mustafa, who was a businessman, and Fathima Beevi. After the completion of his graduation from S.N College Varkala, he came to Dubai in 1973. He has worked several firms including Caterpiller Company, Etternit Pipe Company, Bosskalis West Minister Dredging Company, Sharjah, and another French oil company before starting his own venture.
Kassim is married to Sulekha Beevi, a home maker. The couple has three childrenson Sidhik Kassim, a BBA graduate from the USA who is helping his father in business as the general manager of the company, and daughters Niza Kassim and Naseeja Kassim, both married and settled in Kerala.
