Mr. James Mathew is a Fellow Charted Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from Denver, Colorado, United States of America. Born in an earnest Christian family to Mr. P. S. Mathai and Mrs. Thankamma Mathai in Calicut district of Kerala, he left Calicut at the age of 11 for a formal education from Sainik School in Trivandrum. After schooling, he went to St.Joseph’s College, Devagiri, Kozhikode to pursue Bachelors of Science in Physics, Mathematics and Statistics. During his days as a residential school student, he spent endless hours on the athletic track. James Mathew has sporting records in 100, 200 and 400 meter races, some of which are in his name even today.
His passion for numbers leads him to score 100% in Mathematics throughout college. Mr. James Mathew moved to Dubai in the year 1992 and started working as a Senior Auditor where he practiced for four years. In 1996, Mr. Mathew joined the team of Horwath Mak as a Partner and grew to the helm of affairs by becoming the Group CEO of its UAE & Oman operations.
He is an active contributor to the UAE’s diverse business and professional community through participation in various social and cultural forums and organizations. His tenure as Chairman of the Dubai Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) reflects his rise to the top echelons of a professional body of accountants and auditors where his leadership principles were lauded by all and sundry.
He found the perfect companion in Mrs. Bindu James, to accompany in the journey of greater heights in personal and professional life. The treasure a beautiful family, blessed with two daughters.
