An Executive member of the Kerala Samajam, Ras Al Khaimah, Biju Kottila is an established and phenomenal dramatist. He is known for conventional dramas and short films he has been a part of and directing. He has directed dramas for Kannur district level Kalaprathibha in the year 2000. Biju has put forth his skills and talent as a dramatist and actor to the very best at the Amateur Drama Group, Neruvambaram Nadakavedi for almost five years. He has performed at the very popular Soorya Festival, National Drama Festival and Street Drama to name a few.
Biju has been felicitated with a series of awards which mark him as a talented performer. He has won Best Supporting Actor at the Abu Dhabi Sakthi Theater Award consecutively in 2013 and 2014. He also bagged the Best Director award for his drama titled ‘Ottamuri’ at the Bharath Murali Nadakolsavam Awards, UAE and Best Short Film Award at the Prerna Short Film Festival held in Sharjah for his short film ‘Wine Bottle’. Other than that, he has also won the Special Jury Award for his short film, ‘Why’ at the State Short Film Festival.
A native of Kottila village in Kannur district of Kerala, Biju belongs to Kottiyal house. He is the son of Balakrishnan and Leela. An actor by choice and profession, Biju also finds great interest in reading and painting as much as he takes time to pen down his thoughts and ideas. He is married to Renya, who works as a Lab Technician.
